Madonna Louise Ciccone (1958-) is an icon. A singer, actress, author and director, she is known for her stage performances and style. Named as the best-selling female recording artist of all time, she maintains a huge fan base, which ensure high demand for her memorabilia.

True Blue was Madonna's third studio album and dedicated to her then husband, Sean Penn. Released in 1986, it featured hits such as Papa Don't Preach, Open Your Heart and La Isla Bonita. It topped the charts in 28 countries and was 1986's top selling-album world-wide with some 24 million copies sold.

This two page legal document, dated 2 December 1987, measures 8.5x11 and is signed by both Madonna and Herb Ritts. Madonna's signature reads: Madonna Ciccone Penn".

The legal document describes how Madonna relinquishes use of the image to a charitable non-profit organisation, The American Fund for AIDS research.

In pristine condition, light creasing, single paperclip impression and paper clip holes to upper left corner.

The document is accompanied by a photocopy of Ritt's original photograph, used on the cover of Madonna's True Blue album.
