Phil Collins is an English musician best known for being the drummer
and vocalist in the band Genesis, and for his work as a solo artist.
Collins
first began his musical career drumming for the band Flaming Youth when
he was just 18 years old. He joined Genesis in 1970, originally as the
drummer, who also provided backing vocals to then lead singer, Peter
Gabriel. Collins became the lead vocalist of the band when Gabriel left
to pursue his solo career.
Collins' had his first number 1 single in 1984 with his hit ballad Against All Odds.
