Stan Laurel & Oliver Hardy Signed Photograph
For Sale: £6,900.00
American cinema of the 20s and 40s saw one of the most popular comedy teams of all time make their mark on Hollywood.
By the time they produced their first true Laurel & Hardy film,
American Hardy (1892-1957) was already thirty-five and English Laurel
(1890-1965) was thirty-seven. The team's 1932 short The Music Box was
honoured with an Academy Award for Best Short Subject. Including guest
appearances, Laurel & Hardy made 106 films together.
Classic vintage matte-finish 10.75" x 14.5" photo of the pair, signed
and inscribed in fountain pen in the centre, "OUR KIND THOUGHTS ALWAYS,
ELMA & FRED, SINCERELY".
An arrow directs to the autographs: on the left Stan Laurel's; to the
right Oliver Hardy's. Both signatures are written vertically. Like the
inscription, Laurel's autograph is written in blue pen, while Hardy's
is written in brown/black pen.
A large and fine photograph in very good condition, with some light creasing to the corners.
