The Beatles Signed A Hard Days Night Album Cover
For Sale: £35,000.00
There are approximately 125 known album covers signed by all four members of The Beatles.
Signed copies of Please Please Me and With the Beatles account for approximately 95 of the 125 known examples.
That takes the total down to just 30.
There are approximately 5 known examples of Meet The Beatles. The last copy to appear at auction sold for $115,000 in 2006.
Equally rare are signed copies of A Hard Days Night; only 8-10 are known to exist.
This is one of them...
The film A Hard Day's Night is a genuine classic, and certainly one of the most important rock films in history.
It's a double Academy Award winning film - it’s been called the ‘Citizen Kane of jukebox musicals’.
And, ‘One of the great life-affirming landmarks of the movies’ by the noted film critic Roger Ebert.
And the soundtrack album has an extra special significance to Beatles fans.
A Hard Day's Night is the only Beatles album where all the songs were written by both John Lennon and Paul McCartney.
Released in July 1964 this signed album is fast approaching its 50th anniversary and the Beatles are as popular as they have ever been.
A
couple of years ago, when they made their back catalogue available to
download digitally on iTunes, they sold over 450,000 albums in just
seven days.
And Beatles memorabilia prices have been rising accordingly.
Just recently John Lennon’s jacket from a 1966 Life Magazine photoshoot sold for $240,000.
Then the handwritten lyrics for A Day in the Life were sold by Sotheby’s for $1.2m.
Even a toilet seat from Lennon’s home sold for £9,500 (over $15,000).
There are only 8-10 known signed A Hard Day's Night album covers in the world. This example is signed by all four Beatles; Lennon, McCartney, Harrison and Starr.
The signatures are marked in blue pen, each inscribed below the corresponding band member's photograph.
The item is in fine condition, with some light wear to the edges.
The
album cover is to be sold framed alongside a black and white photo of
the group, with a certificate of authenticity and lifetime guarantee.
This is a very rare opportunity to acquire one of the rarest pieces of Beatles memorabilia.
