A 1926 Amilcar C6 Voiturette is among the stars of Bonhams' classic car auction in Paris on February 2.
Estimated at between €460,000 and €540,000, the impressive racing car is among several outstanding French classic vehicles set to cross the auction floor.
The car has been in the US since the end of the Second World War, and has not been offered on the European market since new.
Another superb French-built car on offer is the 1935 Delage D8 105 S Streamlined Coupé, valued at €280,000 to €360,000. The sole survivor of its type, it has been fully restored, and has been shown at the renowned Concorso D'Eleganza Ville D'Este.
More than 100 cars and 35 motorcycles, including lots from three private collections, make up the sale.

Other important French cars available include a 1905 Darracq Flying Fifteen Rear Entrance Tonneau, estimated at €175,000 to €205,000; a 1921 Bugatti Type 23 Brescia, valued at €100,000 to €140,000; and the 1911 Delaunay-Belleville HB4 Tourer, which comes to auction with an estimate of €150,000 to €180,000.
Some enjoy the thrill of the auction. For others, the more measured approach found on the private markets is infinitely more pleasurable.
