A medieval ring belonging to Joan of Arc realised ?�297,000 ($411,832) in Timeline Auctions' antiquities sale in London earlier today.
The lot smashed its ?�14,000 ($19,412) estimate by 2,021%.

Joan of Arc famously received a vision from God to go and fight alongside the French king Charles VII in the Hundred Years War.
She was captured by the British in May 1430 and later burned at the stake. Joan's parents are alleged to have given her the ring.
Experts are confident the ring is Joan's as it matches her description of it in the court transcripts of her trial.
It's inscribed with the words "Jhesus Maria" (sic) and displays three crosses. She explains she was wearing it when she received her fateful vision.
Brett Hammond of Timeline Auctions told the MailOnline in the run-up to the sale: "In my mind there is little doubt it's her ring.
"To be a ring from the fifteenth century that fits her description perfectly - I think it's too much of a coincidence."
After Joan's death the ring is believed to have passed down through the family of Cardinal Henry Beaufort, an English priest present at the execution.
