Marilyn Monroe unique negative
This could be a great collectible investment, as the photograph is being sold with copyright

The shot shows Monroe, then still Norma Jeane Baker, on Zuma Beach, Malibu at the very outset of her dazzling career in 1946.

The photograph was taken by Joseph Jasgur, who helped Monroe form her first modelling portfolio.

The young Norma Jeane Baker had married James Dougherty in 1942, but was left to find her own income when her husband shipped out with the Merchant Marines.

She soon joined the Hollywood Blue Book Agency, who put her in touch with Jasgur. The resulting portfolio includes shots of Monroe on top of Don Lee Towers, above the Hollywood sign and on Zuma beach.

An exciting opportunity for bidders, the photo is sold with copyright to reproduce and distribute the image - a potentially lucrative investment for the right collector.

Marilyn Monroe has proved one of the most solid investments in collectibles, with the PFC40 Autograph Index showing that a signed photo of the star has risen in value by 8.10% per annum between 2000 and 2013.
