The script is dated December 22, 1980

The script is dated December 22, 1980 and features notations in blue pencil in the margins from Scott and other members of the crew.

The film would be significantly altered from this early draft, and the lot represents a fascinating insight into its development.

Scott was brought up in Stockton, a small town in the north east of England, and drew his inspiration for Blade Runner's apocalyptic Los Angeles skyline from the industrial landscape he grew up in.

He went on to study in Middlesbrough before beginning his career as a director in 1965.

The script was previously sold at Freeman's in September 2010, where it realised $576.

In 2010, the pistol used by Harrison Ford in his role as Deckard made $225,000 at Profiles in History.

Also featuring in the present sale are three signed prints by artist HR Giger relating to the film Alien, which will be sold as individual lots and range in estimate from 60-700 ($97-1,142).

Giger is best known for his design work for the Alien series. His surreal and gothic work has a large cult following, with a 1987 painting achieving $53,144 at Christie's Zurich in 2011.
