Star Trek Wrath of Kahn costume makes $14,000 at ScreenUsed

A costume used in filming for Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (1982) sold for $14,000 in an online sale at ScreenUsed that closed on July 12.

The lot consists of an orange jumpsuit and a pair of gloves along with a back and chest pack, the interior of which reads "Kirk".

Paul Winfield wore the suit in his role as Terrill in Star Trek: The Wrath of Kahn

It was created for Star Trek: The Motion Picture (1979), where it was worn by William Shatner, and was reused in The Wrath of Kahn by Paul Winfield in his role as Terrill.

The film reinvigorated the franchise, which had lapsed in popularity during the late 1970s, and was a critical and commercial success - the film achieved $97m on its opening day.

Yoda's hand from Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back achieved $12,000.

The lot is part of the puppet created by designer Stuart Freeborn and built with the help of employees from the Jim Henson workshop.

It was operated by Frank Oz, a puppeteer and director who also worked on the Muppets and Sesame Street.

We have this piece of Krayt Dragon bone from the first Star Wars film.

Other lots in the sale included a remote control from the film Click (2006) starring Adam Sandler and a Sankara stone from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.

We have a range of movie memorabilia available, click here to take a look.
