A page of handwritten lyrics from one of Bob Dylan's famed early performances in Greenwich Village is selling for $10,454 at RR Auction.

The sale closes this evening (October 23), with the lyrics expected to soar in price as the auction draws to a close. Dating to 1961, the sheet contains lyrics to four songs that Dylan was memorising before a concert at one of the area's famous folk venues.
The songs are: Don't Let Your Deal Go Down by Roy Acuff, Wreck on the Highway by Dorsey Dixon and traditional ballads Mary of the Wild Moor and Crying Holy to the Frost by Irene Amburgey.
Dylan moved to Greenwich Village, New York in 1961 in an attempt to launch his career. Some of his most famous early performances took place at venues including The Cafe Wha?, The Gaslight Cafe and Gerde's Folk City.
He has not signed the page, but it remains an important piece of Dylan memorabilia. Lyrics to his self-penned hits sell for much more, with the handwritten lyrics to Like A Rolling Stone selling for $2m in June 2014, setting a new world record for a pop music manuscript
The sheet in the present auction is in fine condition, with some scattered soiling on the reverse.
