A nonsensical abecedarium - or alphabet - written by John Lennon for his Bag One project, is to sell at UK auction house Roger Jones Co on February 26.

The list was used as an introduction for Bag One, a project of Lennon's artworks and drawings, which were originally drawn as a wedding gift for Yoko Ono and subsequently released as limited edition prints. This printer's proof is valued at £5,000-6,000 ($8,319-$9,983).
It reads: “A is for Parrot, B is for glasses, C is for plastic, D is for Doris...” and so on.
The consignor is Michael Poynter Adams, who first met John Lennon in his pre-Beatles days while record shopping in Liverpool. He later worked for the printer responsible for producing Lennon's limited edition lithographs.
"By sheer coincidence, later in life I was working at Curwen's where the Bag One lithographs were printed and I was told that when John and Yoko arrived in their flamboyant Rolls Royce to see the first prints being produced, there were girls banging on the studio windows outside trying to attract his attention," recalled Adams.
"I am selling it with great reluctance but it is not on display at home and we are moving to a smaller house, so it has to go. It's a significant piece of music history and I hope it goes to a good home."
