An extensive archive of personal items previously owned by Monica Lewinsky - the White House employee with whom President Clinton admitted to having an "improper relationship" while still in office - is to auction at Nate D Sanders on June 27.

The collection includes a Bill Clinton-signed letter typed on White House stationary, 11 greeting cards signed "Monica", "Monka" and, peculiarly, "Monstreeka" and eight items of clothing, including a black, floor-length negligee.
Offered by the ex-wife of Lewinsky's former lover Andy Blelier, the collection also includes a book of White House matches and a sealed box of Presidential Whitman's chocolates (possibly gifted by Clinton).
Estimated at $25,000-50,000, the 32-item collection was submitted by Bleiler to US special prosecutor Kenneth Starr during his high-profile investigation of the Lewinsky/Clinton scandal during the mid-1990s. As a direct result of this action, Bleiler's infidelity with Lewinsky came to light.
Lewinsky claimed to have had sexual encounters with President Clinton on nine occasions. Clinton, who has been married to wife Hillary since 1975, initially denied the allegations - famously pronouncing "I did not have sexual relations with that woman" - yet the story swirled.
In 1998, Lewinsky turned over a semen-stained blue dress that provided unambiguous DNA evidence that the relationship had taken place, and, on August 17, 1997 Clinton admitted to having partaken in an "improper physical relationship" with Lewinsky.
The blue dress is absent from the present archive.
Auctioneer Nate D Sanders comments: "Items owned by Monica Lewinsky, especially relating to the Clinton scandal and Ken Starr investigations are exceedingly rare.
"This is, to my knowledge, the only collection of this nature to come to light."
Following the scandal, Lewinsky designed and released a line of handbags, worked as a TV personality and attainted a degree in psychology.
