It appears that football icon and one-man global brand David Beckham has developed an interest in another collectible besides luxury cars.
The England and LA Galaxy ace has been in the news after reportedly getting caught smoking a luxury hand-rolled Cuban cigar.
According to a "source" quoted by the celebrity gossip site Perez Hilton, Beckham acquired the taste shortly after his move from Real Madrid to the USA team LA Galaxy.
"He loves the taste," they said. "It's strange to see such an athlete as Becks smoking. But he doesn't have any other vices."
In his quest to become a cigar aficionado, Beckham may be interested in the pre-eminent cigar maker Habanos SA's new Volume IX release, as part of its "Habanos Collection".
Each cigar has been totally crafted by hand, with selected leaves of Vuelta Abajo, Pinar del Río tobacco from the region of Cuba.
Only 1,000 numbered cases will be produced, each containing 20 special vitolas.
