A 1911 "Tin Lizzie" Model T Ford was the highest selling lot at the sale of the Richard Garriott collection at the Austin Auction Gallery on September 21, making $16,000.
"Tin Lizzie" is the colloquial name for the Model T - generally regarded as the first affordable car, and built using Henry Ford's efficient production line methods that have since become the standard in manufacturing. In 1914 an average assembly line worker could afford to buy a Model T with just four months' pay.

A full size fibreglass reproduction of a Wells Fargo stagecoach sold for $12,000. Wells Fargo began as a stagecoach company that controlled the monopoly on long distance travel between the east and west coasts of America up until the completion of the transcontinental railway, towards the end of the 19th century. The fibreglass models were produced in the 1970s.
A 1923 Ford Coupe T-Bucket automobile was another highlight, making $11,000, while a 19th century copy of a painting by Louis Galloche, titled St Vincent de Paul with the Ladies of Charity, sold for $7,500.
A French Erard lacquered ormolu piano, circa 1903, realised $9,000. It was built in Louis XVI style with lavish, gilt bronze castings, showing scenes from Greek mythology, applied to the Rosewood case.
Richard Garriott is a video games designer and noted collector. The auction featured an eclectic selection of around 600 lots, ranging from antique electromechanical items to camera equipment.
