An Ancient Egyptian burial cloth is to cross the block at the PIASA auction house in Paris on June 18.

Egypt shroud PIASA
The shroud dates to the 14th century BC

The lot dates to around 1400 to 1300 BC, the era of the New Kingdom.

It bears the name Ta-nedjem and features hieroglyphics that read: "Offering of all things good and pure for the Ka (vitality) of Ta-nedjem of just voice."

There is no estimate available for the shroud, but its enormous rarity means that it is likely to attract strong bids at auction.
