King William IV carriage valued at $455,500 ahead of Bonhams sale

The landau was designed to be used on long journeys

The travelling landau dates to 1835 and was used to transport members of the royal family between appointments around the UK and Europe.

Bonhams comments: "The Landau is a truly wonderful piece of early Royal transport and the restoration work carried out to return it to its former glory is unlikely to be ever repeated again."
