An 1849 Colt revolver that belonged to confederate colonel John L Miller is to lead an eclectic sale at Robb Partners on October 18 in Bluffton, South Carolina with an estimate of $30,000-50,000.
Miller was the leader of the South Carolina 12th infantry and was present at the battle of Port Royal in 1861 when union forces captured Hilton Head island off the coast of South Carolina. He was later killed in action.

The 1849 Colt revolver was one of the most popular pistols of the 19th century, with nearly 325,000 produced between 1850 and 1873. The lot is offered in its original presentation case.
The record for a Colt revolver remains the $1.1m achieved by a gold-inlaid 1849 model at Sotheby's in 2012.

A 17th century Franzino flintlock snaphaunce pistol, featuring a double edged barrel decorated with rings and acanthus leaves, is expected to make $11,000-22,000.
A Savage revolving carbine two stage, 9.5mm dating to the late 19th century carries an estimate of $9,500-19,000, while a 17th century brass mounted flintlock pistol signed "Lazarino Cominazzo" could make $9,000-18,000.
Cominazzo was famed for the quality of his barrels, which he produced in Brescia, Italy and provided to gunsmiths across Europe. His level of fame was on a par with the most celebrated artists of the period.
A 1973 Cadillac Eldorado convertible will also feature at the sale with an estimate of $20,000-40,000. It was used as a pace car in the Indianapolis 500 on May 18, 1973 and features a V8 engine.
