Sotheby’s offers Chinese jades in June 22 sale

On June 22 Sotheby’s Paris will offer a series of 11 Chinese jades from the collection of Mr and Mrs Djahanguir Riahi.

Jade brush pot

The pot is carved with a design based on a famous Chinese painting

The star looks set to be an exceptional green jade brush pot produced for the imperial court during the Kangxi/ Qianlong period (17th and 18th centuries).

The design is based on the The Five Old Men of Suiyang, a painting from Suiyang province showing a group of elderly men in a landscape.

It’s valued at $335,745-559,575.
