A page of Albert Uderzo’s original artwork for Asterix and the Cauldron (1969) will auction at Christie’s Paris on June 17.
Asterix is among the world's most popular comic franchises
The lot is expected to sell for around $168,799-202,559 in the Comics and Illustration sale.
However, that estimate could prove on the low side.
Original Asterix pages are a hot market, as we saw in January – when one specimen achieved a significant boost on its valuation, selling for $341,411.
This ties in with the surging demand for Tintin artwork (another popular Franco-Belgian comic series).
