Fairhead Fine Art's Salvador Dali: Surreal Views auction was highlighted yesterday (March 12) by the sale of the artist's bronze sculpture Homage to Marcel Duchamp.
The piece originates from the Clot Collection, which was produced following Dali's contract with Isidoro Clot in 1973. It sold for $2,500 to meet its low estimate.
The sale offered many other affordable examples of Dali's work, including Zeus from a series of prints entitled The Mythology, which sold for $2,000.
Paul Fraser Collectibles has a marvellous Salvador Dali sketch for sale, which demonstrates his fantastic understanding of the human form and is thought to depict his wife Gala.
