Console aux Oiseaux, a table designed in 1979 by Diego Giacometti, will carry an estimate of $400,000-600,000 to Doyle New York's November 18 Design Auction.
Giacometti (1902-1985) was a Swiss sculptor and furniture designer who worked predominantly in bronze. He was the younger brother of fellow sculptor Alberto Giacometti, who often used Diego as his muse.

Recently two works by Alberto depicting his brother: Grande tete de Diego and Diego en chemise ecossaise realised $50m and $32.6m, respectively.
The brothers remained close throughout their lives, both working together in the same studio in Paris and utilising similar materials - ensuring their sculptures share a common aesthetic.
A similar console table by Diego realised $1.7m at Doyle New York earlier this year - a record price for a work by the artist.
Another sculpture by Diego will feature in the sale. Titled Deux Chevaux et Arbre (1975), the work depicts two stylised horses eating from a tree. It is valued at $60,000-80,000.

Carved from American black walnut and rosewood, the table features the combination of natural shapes and traditional Japanese joinery techniques that are the hallmarks of Nakashima's work.
One of the greatest furniture designers of the 20th century, Nakashima regularly achieves six-figure sums at auction.
In 2006, a redwood burl and black walnut dining table realised $822,400 at Sotheby's New York.
