Formula One charity auction provides 50 unique photographs

A unique auction is set to put Formula One drivers' photography skills to the test, when 50 autographed images will sell for charity.

The Zoom project, which is raising money for London's Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity, brings a unique perspective on the sport, with the photographs all taken by the drivers and team principals of F1 teams.

A varied selection from three top names

With the drivers left to choose their own subject, the varied collection includes highlights such as Lewis Hamilton's driver's eye view from his car at Spa-Francorchamps, German driver Sebastian Vettel's favourite view of the Alps and Bruno Senna's own idyllic beach scene.

The auction even has backing from Formula One boss Bernie Ecclestone, who commented: "The auction is a super idea. It will hopefully raise a lot of money for the hospital and the teams will get coverage."

Antonia Dalmahoy, the director of corporate partnerships at Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity, added: "The images give real insight into the drivers' personalities and we're really looking forward to the auction."

Details of how to bid in the auction have yet to be revealed, though the sale will culminate on September 14. A special VIP reception and live auction will be held that night at the Wyndham Grand London Chelsea Harbour hotel and attended by many of the Formula One drivers that contributed photos.

We will bring you full results of the sale next month.
