A watercolour painting of Bavaria's Neuschwanstein Castle by Adolf Hitler has sold at auction.
The artwork made $113,651 at Weidler auction house in Nuremberg, Germany on June 20.

It had come to auction with a $50,000 estimate.
It was the highest selling of 14 Hitler artworks from 1904 to 1922 that auctioned. A depiction of a bunch of carnations made $82,965.
Prior to leading the Nazis to power, Hitler had tried and failed to get into art school in Vienna.
Hitler's artworks are controversial yet in-demand auction items.
Their ubiquity - Hitler painted hundreds of pieces prior to his political career - keeps prices moderate, as does the fear of fakes. Hitler artworks are notoriously difficult to authenticate because he lacked an individual style.
The same auction house sold a Hitler watercolour of Munich town hall for $161,000 last year - a record for a Hitler artwork.
Sales of Hitler's paintings are permitted in Germany, so long as they do not feature a swastika.
