Jack Kirby's Thor art selling for $135,000 in online auction

A 16 page example of Jack Kirby's original artwork for the popular Marvel comic Thor is currently selling for $135,000 online.

Jack Kirby Thor art
The first ever full-page splash of Galactus, an important character in the Marvel Universe

The story originates from 1966 in Thor #134, which sees the first appearance of High Evolutionary and features the first full-page splash of Galactus. Having received 65 bids already, the final price will undoubtedly rocket as the auction closes on February 28, although the original cover art is not included.

Jack Kirby was one of the most respected artists of Marvel's Golden Age and was co-creator of the Thor character along with Stan Lee. Collectors will find more of his work at Heritage Auctions' February 21-23 Vintage Comics auction, which also stars the original cover art for Watchmen.
