Lowry's work was primarily focused on Britain's industrial north, his landscapes filled with enigmatic stick figures. He is a household name in the UK, although he is less known overseas.

His auction record was set in 2011, when a rare painting of London sold for £5.6m ($9.4m) at Christie's. You can check out Wikicollecting's Top 10 most valuable Lowry paintings here.

Dame Barbara Hepworth's Figure for a Landscape (1960) is another highlight, valued at £1m-2m ($1.6m-3.3m).

The sculpture was inspired on the Greek island of Patmos, where she saw a priest standing alone in the landscape.

She wrote of the experience: "This single human figure then seemed to me to give the scale to the whole universe, and this is exactly what a sculpture should suggest in its relationship to its surroundings: it should seem to be at the centre of the globe, compelling the whole world around it to rotate, as it were, like a system of planets around the central sun."

Her auction record stands at £2.4m ($3.6m) - set for Curved Form (Bryher II), which sold at Christie's London in July 2013.

We have this signed photograph by Henry Moore, another major British sculptor of the 20th century.
