Oliver Reed stars in first-ever auction of photographer Alistair Morrison

Two portraits by the renowned portrait photographer, Alistair Morrison, are to be sold at Bonhams, London, as part of its Photographs sale on November 16.

Morrison's subjects are Oliver Reed and one of the British author and commentator Frederick Forsyth. It is the first time that works by Morrison have come to auction.

With over 80 photographs in the National Portrait Gallery, London, and numerous limited edition prints in private international collections, Morrison has built a reputation as one of the celebrated portrait photographers of his generation.

In 2007, Prince William's girlfriend, Kate Middleton, helped boost his profile when she hosted an exhibition of his celebrity photographs at The Shop at Bluebird on the King's Road, London.

The Oliver Reed and Frederick Forsyth photographs have attracted pre-sale estimates of £1,800-2,200 and £1,500-2,000 respectively.

Based between London and New York, Morrison's subjects have included Bette Davis, Laurence Olivier, Anthony Hopkins, Tom Cruise and Margaret Thatcher.
