A ceramic pot by Pablo Picasso titled Oiseaux et Poissons is valued at £40,000-60,000 ($60,520-90,780) ahead of Christie's February 6 impressionist and modern art sale in London.
The lot was produced in 1955 in an edition of 25.

Picasso began making ceramics in the late 1940s after becoming acquainted with the owners of Madoura, a pottery house based in the south of France.
Art investing website Artnet reported in 2013: "Over the past 10 years, the market for Picasso ceramics has steadily grown, with seasoned collectors and new buyers alike vying for Picasso's editioned and unique ceramics at auction…
"The increase in the market for Picasso originals has resulted in a number of buyers being 'priced out.'
"Thus, a number of these ceramic works have replaced the desire for more costly and sought-after unique paintings, drawings, and sculpture."
Bernard Buffet's Le Moulin a Vent carries an estimate of £35,000-45,000 ($52,955-68,085).
Buffet's work is currently growing in value, in spite of the derision he endured from the art world during his own lifetime (he was, however, extremely popular with the general public).
Much of this ire emanated from Picasso, who hated his work and felt threatened by his success.
