Ray Bradbury artwork collection features at Nate D Sanders

A selection of artwork from the estate of science fiction writer Ray Bradbury is offered in Nate D Sanders' online sale, with bidding due to close on September 25.

Included is an original work by Charles Addams, creator of the Addams Family, which was used as the front cover of Bradbury's 2001 collection of short stories From the Dust Returned.

Charles Addams was a close friend of Ray Bradbury

The illustration was intended to accompany the serialisation of the first story, Homecoming, in 1946.

It's offered with a starting bid of $32,500.

Addams' gothic creations debuted in the New Yorker in 1938 and went on to spawn a number of successful film and TV series.

An original animation cel from Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937) is another highlight at a minimum of $21,000.

The lot depicts the iconic scene in which the queen, in the guise of a hag, offers Snow White a bite of the poisoned apple.

Another animation cel depicting a similar scene from the film achieved $26,290 at Heritage Auctions in November last year.

We have this copy of Walt Disney's America signed by 20 important animators and voice actors from the studio's early years.
