Jacqueline Kennedy ephemera heading for Florida auction

A collection of ephemera relating to Jacqueline Kennedy will go on sale at Palm Beach Modern Auctions on January 17 in Florida.

With Kennedy known as a style icon, the notes relating to her design ideas are sure to be popular

Bill Hamilton, a former design director at Carolina Herrera, collected the notes, photos and letters, with much of the content focusing on Kennedy's love of style and design.

Carolina Herrara dressed Jacqueline Kennedy almost exclusively, and the notes show the development of her iconic style, including her own sketches of possible outfits. Spanning 20 lots, each is estimated at $800-1,200.

In one of the notes, she writes: "I just love this suit and will wear it everywhere as I am SO sick of everyone constantly in black. Like Mediterranean villages where everyone is in mourning for 20 years."

There are several photographs of Jacqueline with John F Kennedy, as well as a book entitled The White House with an inscription from Jacqueline. Many of the photographs are being sold with the copyright, making for a great opportunity for collectors.

Also featuring are letters written to Richard Langham, who worked with Kennedy on many of her decorating projects, including the Mouse House cottage in Virginia.
