The astonishing book is in superb condition, despite being over 223 years old. It was printed and bound especially for Washington in 1789, his first year as president of the newly-formed United States of America.

The book was created by Thomas Allen of New York, who bound similar editions for both Thomas Jefferson and Attorney General John Jay. "President of the United States" is embossed in crisp gold lettering across the front of the volume.

If that wasn't enough to excite presidential collectors, Washington has also signed the edition on the title page and made annotations regarding his responsibilities in the side margins, reflecting the serious approach he took to all of his duties as both president and military leader.

George Washington was elected following a unanimous decision after the American War of Independence against the British. He remains the only president to receive 100% of the votes, not just in 1789 but again in 1792, following a momentous first term.

Presidential items routinely make and break records in auction houses. An autographed letter written by Washington to his nephew Bushrod set a record for the president in 2009 with a hammer price of $3.2m.
April 30 will see the pair of opera glasses that Abraham Lincoln was using when he was assassinated sell for approximately $700,000.

Paul Fraser Collectibles is very pleased to offer this George Washington autographed lottery ticket to collectors. We also have a strand of hair from the head of the first President of the United States.
