Oldest known Egyptian papyri can be seen in Cairo

The oldest known Egyptian papyri are on display at the Egyptian Museum in Cairo.

Six from a collection of 30 writings discovered near to the city of Suez are available to view.

Great Pyramid Giza
The Great Pyramid took around 20 years to build

They date to the time of the Old Kingdom (specifically to around 2,500 BC) and relate to the working lives of those who built the Great Pyramid at Giza.

They include fascinating details on the amount of food supplied to each worker and information on how the enormous stone blocks were brought to the site.
