Herge Tintin Sothebys
Herge's clear line style inspired subsequent generations of comic book artists

The work was published in Le Petit Vingtieme in 1939 and offers an exceptional example of Herge's clear line style - which eschews crosshatching in favour of solid lines.

A page of drawings by Herge, featuring various characters from the Tintin stories, sold for a world record $3.7m in a 2014 auction.
