1989 Ferrari concept car to sell in September

A unique 1989 Ferrari concept car will appear in Bonhams’ Chantilly sale on September 10.

Known as the 328 Conciso, the daring design was built on a 1989 Ferrari 328 GTS and resembles most closely a classic racing car from the middle of the century.

The Conciso is stripped down to the bare minimum

The prestigious Bernd Michalak Design Studio was behind the coachwork, which is constructed from aluminium alloy.

Stripped of the weight of doors and roof, the power that this thing can generate is nothing short of alarming. It’s capable of speeds of up to 172mph and comes equipped with specially designed crash helmets.

The car was first shown at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1993, where it was the subject of huge attention.

It’s been driven sparingly over its lifespan. For many years it was the central focus of a collector’s living room.

Most recently, it has been on display at the Ferrari 70th Anniversary exhibition at the Brussels Autoworld Museum.

There’s no estimate available, but it's likely to attract major bids.

Bonhams bill it as “a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to acquire one of the rarest Ferraris in existence.”

Other cars featured in the sale include a spectacular Mercedes Benz 300SLS roadster, valued at $2.8m.
