Royal Air Force medals to make $20,000 on July 13?

Bonhams will sell a group of nine medals awarded to wing commander AJL Craig of the Royal Air Force in London on July 13.

Medals RAF War
Wing Commander Craig continued in the RAF after the war

It includes a Distinguished Service Order and an MBE medal, both awarded in 1944.

Craig was mentioned in dispatches in 1944 for his virtuosic piloting of his bomber back to the UK following a direct hit from a flak gun on the continent.

After the war he served as a test pilot for a number of years.

The lot is expected to sell for around £10,000-15,000 ($13,335-20,000).
