Sarah Jessica Parker's green dress from the opening sequence of the 2008 film Sex and the City is one of the standout lots at Premier Props' Hollywood Entertainment Auction in California on July 30-31.
The dress has excellent provenance. The opening sequence was filmed on the first day of shooting, which was heavily attended by the press. Subsequently there are innumerable photos of Parker, who plays Carrie Bradshaw in the film, wearing the garment.
Collectibles from hit US television shows are always popular with collectors and we feel confident that the piece could easily beat its $2,600 estimate; such is the potential value of the dress in years to come.

Other movie memorabilia up for grabs includes a set of Spock ears worn by Star Trek actor Leonard Nimoy, which have a $250 estimate, and a Denzel Washington-worn suit from the 1995 film Virtuosity, valued at $4,200.
On the music memorabilia front, the auction will feature a pair of jeans once worn by Justin Bieber. These are estimated to make $100.
Paul Fraser Collectibles believes this estimate to be on the low side, considering the Bieber fever that is around at the moment.
"We have such a huge array of important and very recognisable costumes and props from some of the biggest stars in the world," commented Dan Levin, the vice president of Marketing for Premiere Props.
"From Michael Jackson and Britney Spears to Charlton Heston and Leonard Nimoy, there is something for everyone."
