Academy Award winner's outfits for sale in California

Movie memorabilia linked to leading bygone and current day stars will sell in Premiere Props' Extravaganza Auction this Saturday (March 13).

Star lots will include Elvis Presley's "King of Rock 'n' Roll" custom jumpsuit, along with his initialled bracelets and rings. Billed as a museum-quality piece, it carries an estimate of $30,000-60,000.

$30-60k

It will certainly be one to watch. In October last year, one of the King's shirts sold for $32,500 after a 10-minute bidding war between four ardent fans over the phone.

Also for sale at Premiere Props are a number of memorabilia items whose value may have increased following this week's 82nd Annual Academy Awards.

Costumes from Sandra Bullock's Best Actress Oscar-winning performance in The Blind Side will be open to collectors' bids.

A Chanel sweater is among the items, estimated at $100-25,000.

Meanwhile, fans of the Beatles can bid on a rare 1965 Fan Club postcard autographed by each of the Fab Four during their second US tour.

Costumes and props used by Harrison Ford, Denzel Washington, Milla Jovovich and in films including Blade Runner, The Book of Eli and Hollywood's adaption of Cormac McCathy's The Road will also feature.

The auction takes place on March 13 in El Segundo, California. Online bidding will be available.

Collectors of Elvis memorabilia will be interested to know that two signed photographs of the King, one smiling and one brooding, are currently for sale.

And a rare piece featuring all four Beatles' signatures -  a card signed by John, Paul, George and Ringo in 1963 - is also on the market priced £7,500 ($12,375).
