Only 15 examples of the card are known to exist

The card, which shows a family raising a toast, was produced in 1843 with 2,000 printed in colour and a handful in monochrome.

Before Henry Cole's Christmas card entered production, people either made their own or relied upon generic greetings cards that were available year round.

Only around 15 are known to exist today.
