First it was US punk rockers Blink-182... And now rock guitarist Marty Friedman is also doing his bit to aid tsunami relief efforts in Japan by selling off his memorabilia.
Among music fans, Friedman remains best-known for his tenure as guitarist for the multi-platinum selling US metal band Megadeth, from 1990-2000.
After leaving Megadeth, Friedman relocated to Tokyo. As he wrote on his Facebook page: "There are many, many people here in Japan that are facing an unbelievable tragedy."
"I am going to LA right NOW to the climate controlled lockup where all the guitars have been in their cases since January 2000."

According to Friedman, all guitars used by him on Megadeth's "recordings, tours, videos, everything" will be auctioned off. Pictures, descriptions and how to bid will all be posted on his guitarist US website, he said.
As well as offering yet another example of how the investment benefits of collectibles can be put to a good cause, Friedman has also made a wise choice in choosing to sell his guitars.
