Muhammad Ali memorabilia could 'float like a butterfly' in online auction

Charity Auctioneers CharityBuzz have announced a range of sporting memorabilia, including a number associated with Muhammad Ali are to be offered for a few weeks.

Born Cassius Clay, Jr., Muhammad Ali's career saw 56 wins, no draws and just five defeats. His boxing style was unorthodox and led to the catchphrase "float like a butterfly, sting like a bee".

One intriguing lot is a photograph showing the champion with another set of icons: the black-and-white image shows Ali standing 'victorious' over the Beatles. The picture, signed by the champ is expected to raise $3,500 for Ralph Lauren's Pink Pony fund.

Ali is the most photographed person of all time gracing the cover of Sports Illustrated 35 times, second only to Michael Jordan. One lot offered, described as the 'On the Cover' Ali collection, includes ten original Sports Illustrated magazines with Muhammad Ali's signature on each one.

In addition, this rare collection includes an original LIFE magazine signed by both Muhammad Ali and his bitter rival Joe Frazier; and an original REFEREE magazine signed "Muhammad Ali aka Cassius Clay" by the Champ in perfect condition.

For all 12 Muhammad Ali signatures on the covers of the 12 original magazines, the collection is expected to achieve $15,000, and has already received a $3,000 bid within hours of opening.

A 'Hollywood Collection' of Muhammad Ali memorabilia would make a strong investment: this unbelievable package includes:

A Will Smith worn glove when he played Muhammad Ali in the Sony Pictures feature film Ali from 2001. The glove was worn by Smith for the fight scene from "The Rumble in the Jungle" fight in Zaire against George Foreman played by Charles Shufford in the film. The glove is signed in silver by Muhammad Ali and comes with a letter from Sony Pictures.

There is also an original script from the Columbia Pictures motion picture The Greatest from 1977 signed on the cover by Muhammad Ali in silver and an original The Greatest movie premiere ticket in mint condition signed in pen and an original movie poster from the movie.

Finally the lot includes a Vintage Everlast glove signed by Muhammad Ali that was featured in Mike Tyson's house in the blockbuster hit film The Hangover from 2009. This comes with a letter from Sports Placement Services, Inc. that provided the props for the movie.

This is valued at $23,000. Both lots are offered on behalf of the Celebrity Fight Night Foundation. Last but not least is spectacular motorbike themed on the champ.

The Python Chopper is a tribute to Muhammad Ali in every possible way, from the stunning Ali-themed paint scheme, to the fabricated boxing glove motif in the wheels, to the actual Everlast boxing glove leather seat and everywhere else.

The closer you look the more attention to custom detail you will notice. This chopper was built by Bourget's Bike Works with a 131'' EFI show polished S&S engine, a Springer front end, a 330 rear tire and a digital speedmeter.

Muhammad Ali's signature has even been protected under a layer of gloss coat on the gas tank. The bike is expected to achieve $120,000. CharityBuzz's online auction will run until February 10.
