Originally valued at ?�800-1,200, the lovable green egg made ?�6,250 ($10,516). Humpty is well used to the limelight, having been the show's most popular character and regularly receiving his own fan mail.
Humpty featured in almost every episode of the long-running TV show, which aired between 1964 and 1988 - over 24 years. As such, he's been a familiar fixture in the lives of many of Britain's children.
Three such Humpty toys were made for the show.
