Ronald Reagan correspondence withdrawn from Swann auction

Six lots of Ronald Reagan correspondence relating to his presidency have been withdrawn from Swann Galleries' May 23 auction.

Those looking to buy Reagan's autograph can bid on this programme over at PFC Auctions

The materials have been removed from the sale under the Presidential Records Act, which serves to preserve presidential records that were made after January 20, 1981 - the date Reagan was made president.

The correspondence comes from the collection of Anne Higgins, who served as Reagan's special assistant and director of correspondence.

Included were 50 notes between the two, a note to an unemployed black Vietnam veteran and a draft letter to Felix J Cuervo, founder of the Native New Yorkers Historical Association.

However, collectors can still bid on quality items of Reagan memorabilia at PFC Auctions, which is offering a Steuben glass eagle gifted by the president to the chairman of the Republication National Finance Committee.

Also featuring is a patriotic autographed programme for a Finance Committee meeting.
