Shirley Temple's Tiffany lamp to star in dedicated sale

A circa 1910 Tiffany Studios Nasturtium lamp belonging to Shirley Temple (1928-2014) is predicted to make $70,000-90,000 at Heritage Auctions.

It's one of the highlights of an auction of pieces from the star's personal collection that will cross the block in Dallas on December 6.

Tiffany Studios lamp
The Nasturtium lamp is one of Tiffany Studios' most celebrated designs

The lamp appears in the background of a 1960 episode of the Shirley Temple Show (she was in her early 30s at the time it was broadcast).

Temple was so enamoured of the lamp that she insisted on taking it home with her.

An original drawing by Charles Schulz inscribed to Temple is valued at $1,000-1,500.

It shows Frieda and Snoopy, with the tag: "Us girls with naturally curly hair have to stick together".

Schulz has signed it: "For Shirley Temple with every best wish - Frieda, Snoopy and Charles Schulz".

There's no date available for the piece, but it's almost certain to be from sometime after 1950 - when Peanuts went into syndication.

The sale also includes pieces from her later career as a US diplomat (she served as ambassador to Ghana and Czechoslovakia - where she is credited with helping bring down the communist government).

These include an American Exemplar medal she was awarded in 1979 for her service in Ghana.

The value of Temple's memorabilia has grown since her death in 2014.

Last year the dress she wore in her classic 1934 movie Stand Up and Cheer (1934) sold for $75,000.
