RM Sotheby’s is selling a brand new 2018 Bugatti Chiron in its December 6 Icons sale.
The model is the first to be approved for use on US roads and is fresh from the factory, with only 250 test miles on the clock.
The Bugatti Chiron has a limited top speed of 261mph
With a top-speed of up to 261mph (in excess of 280mph if the buyer were to remove the limiter), the model is the fastest production car on the market.
That top speed is 3mph faster than the Veryon, Bugatti’s previous hypercar.
The acceleration on the Chiron is particularly ludicrous. This thing can go from 0-60 in just under 2.5 seconds.
So it’s probably just as well only 500 will be built. It’s unknown just how many will be earmarked for the US, so it’s likely this specimen will attract significant attention at auction.
It's valued at $3.5m-4.5m.
The auction house comments: "The opportunity to acquire this Chiron marks the very first occasion that one has been offered at auction and represents a tantalising opportunity.
“The winning bidder will take delivery of what is unquestionably the most anticipated car of the year."
The auction will also feature Steve Jobs’ BMW Z8, a model that has emerged as one of the most in-demand cars of the early 2000s.
