Goldfinger Aston Martin DB5 scale model to lead 50th anniversary sale

A 1/3-scale 24k gold-plated replica of the Aston Martin DB5 from Goldfinger (1964) could make 40,000-60,000 ($65,280-97,920).

It's offered in Christie's online sale to mark 50 years since the film's release, which will run from September 8-17.

Aston Martin Goldfinger
The Aston Martin DB5 is considered the quintessential Bond car

The 3D-printed model was originally created for use in Skyfall (2012), where a DB5 is blown up outside Bond's home in Scotland, and was later painted gold in tribute to the 1964 film.

Aston Martin vehicles star in 11 movies in the franchise. While the DB5 appears in only six, it is still regarded by many as the quintessential Bond car.

It first appeared in Goldfinger, becoming an object of desire for teenage boys around the globe and prompting a huge boost in sales for the marque.

In 2010, the original DB5 used in the film sold for 2.9m ($4.7m) in RM Auctions' London sale.

Also available is an 18k yellow gold Omega Seamaster "Aqua Terre" watch issued especially to commemorate the 50th anniversary.

It features a range of modifications, including a gold counterweight on the second hand in the shape of the 007 logo, and is engraved on the case: "Goldfinger, 50th Anniversary, Unique Piece, Anti-Magnetic".
