Mark of the Vampire poster among highlights of TCM sale

A poster for the 1935 horror Mark of the Vampire is valued at $150,000-200,000 ahead of a major sale of movie memorabilia at Bonhams.

The lot will auction as part of TCM's No Place like Hollywood auction in New York on November 24.

Mark Vampire poster
Mark of the Vampire was directed by Tod Browning

Elizabeth Allan and Bela Lugosi star in Tod Browning's classic, which casts them as father and daughter hunting their prey through the ruins of a gothic castle.

The poster is the only surviving one sheet from the film left, placing it among the rarest and most desirable horror titles from the golden age.

The Cowardly Lion's witch remover from the Wizard of Oz is expected to make $125,000-175,000.

It's constructed from grey painted steel and features in one of the film's most memorable scenes, when Dorothy and friends enter the haunted forest.

This is a key prop from one of the most popular films of all time, making it likely that it will perform well at auction.

It sold for $80,000 at Profiles in History last year.

The sale will also include the original Cowardly Lion costume worn by Burt Lahr, and a selection of items from Casablanca - including the doors to Rick's Café Americain and an original script.
