Top memorabilia from Elvis Presley and Marlon Brando has highlighted Heritage Auctions' March 30 Entertainment and Music Memorabilia Signature Auction in Dallas.

The sale's top lot was the finest known signed copy of the Beatles' Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, yet items such as Marlon Brando's Golden Globe awards and personally owned pieces from Elvis Presley also scored highly.
The two Golden Globe awards offered in the sale, presented to Brando for his performance in On the Waterfront (1954) and as a "World Film Favourite" in 1955, sold for $68,500 and $32,500, respectively. Also starring was a selection of screen-worn costumes and the famous rejection letter he sent for his 1973 Academy Award.

The top selling item of Elvis memorabilia was an owned and worn army fatigue shirt emblazoned with his name patch and regimental sleeve patches. Consigned from the estate of his double cousin Patsy Presley, whom Elvis gave the shirt after leaving the forces, it sold for $27,500.
We have two signed photographs from Elvis' days as a soldier in the US army, plus authentic strands of hair from that haircut.
Also selling was Elvis' personal rotary phone from his home in Beverly Hills in the early 1970s. With Elvis' personal number written in his handwriting on the front and a letter of authenticity from his long-standing friend Charlie Hodge, the telephone brought $16,250.
In March, the only surviving copy of Elvis' first promo record sold for $84,500 in Ireland.
Bringing the third highest bids of the sale was a collection of scripts owned by Stan Laurel of Laurel and Hardy, which sold for $32,500.
This fantastic signed photograph of Laurel and Hardy has been inscribed and features bold signatures from both members of the comedy duo.
