Marty McFly's re-sizing jacket to lead Disneyania sale

Marty McFly's iconic re-sizing jacket from Back to the Future II is to cross the block at Profiles in History.

It's valued at $30,000-50,000 ahead of the December 10 sale of Disneyania in LA.

The jacket is one of two used during filming and is highly visible throughout much of the movie.

The other contains cables and was used in the re-sizing scene. It sold for $80,500 at Profiles in History in 2010.

Joe Maddalena, CEO of Profiles in History, comments: "Marty's 'future' 2015 re-sizing jacket is a major, instantly-recognizable piece from the Back to the Future trilogy.

"We are thrilled to offer it and donate a portion of the proceeds to the Michael J. Fox Foundation For Parkinson's Research."

The costume worn by Kirk Douglas as Ned Land in 20,000 Leagues under the Sea (1954) is valued at $20,000-30,000.

The lot consists of a blue canvas jacket and blue trousers. The red and gold crew patch on the shoulder is not original, but is an exact replica.

A Nautilus diver's helmet from the production sold for $81,250 at Bonhams in 2013.

The sale will feature a wealth of pieces from across the history of the company, including animation cels and Disneyland memorabilia.
