Only Fools and Horses Reliant makes $54,500

A Reliant Regal that appeared in classic British sitcom Only Fools and Horses achieved £41,625 ($54,516) in a recent sale at Silverstone Auctions.

Only Fools Reliant

Only Fools and Horses is one of Britain's favourite sitcoms

The lot can be seen in the trailer for 2001 Christmas Special “If they could only see us now”, filmed in Monaco.

The much-loved show starred David Jason as cockney wide-boy Del, with Nicholas Lyndhurst as his dim-witted brother Rodney. The bright yellow Reliant, with its leopard print interior, was very much a character too.

Other examples of the iconic three-wheeler have also proved popular at auction, with one example selling for £44,227 ($57,924) in 2007.
