The Propstore will offer Monty Python fans a rare chance to buy memorabilia from the troupe's much loved films on September 27.

Trojan rabbit Monty
Designer Valerie Charlton made this Trojan rabbit for from Monty Python and the Holy Grail

It appears in the scene where the knights of Camelot attempt to gain entry to a French castle using a giant wooden rabbit.

This is actually a smaller version and is shown as the French fire it back over the battlements.

It was designed by Valerie Charlton, who created many of the models used on the film.

She explains in a letter of provenance accompanying the piece: "The model rabbit was filmed after we returned to London by Julian Doyle, my partner at the time.

"Julian was a director and cameraman who also co-produced Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

"He filmed the model rabbit as it was flipped on a fishing line from the roof of our house in Hampstead, London."

Other highlights include the original artwork for the Life of Brian (1979) poster.

It's valued at 4,000-6,000 ($5,281-7,921).

The image would become the "type A" poster distributed to cinemas around the US. The artist who created the image is unknown.

We have a very rare photograph signed by all six members of Monty Python for sale.
