Elvis' 'Blue Armadillo' jumpsuit to sell for $250,000?

The 'Blue Armadillo' jumpsuit Elvis wore on tour in 1975 comes to auction this month.

The eye-catching two-piece is expected to highlight Graceland Auctions' dedicated Elvis sale on August 12 – just four days before the 40th anniversary of the singer's death.

$250,000 of Elvis suit?

It's estimated to make up to $250,000, with bids already having reached $150,000.

There is photo evidence of the king wearing the blue ensemble at concerts throughout the southern states in the spring of 1975 – a fact that will help boost interest.

"As a result of the extremely limited number of jumpsuits not currently in the Graceland Archives, only a coveted few ever become available to collectors and this opportunity comes so very infrequently," commented the auctioneer.

"The 'Blue Armadillo' jumpsuit is a treasure, with its solid provenance and plethora of images of Elvis performing in this very costume, making it the absolute pinnacle of any important Elvis collection."

The world record for Elvis clothing stands at $325,000, set last year by the 'Aqua Blue Vine'' suit he wore during his 1974 US tour.

Elvis signed yearbook

The Elvis-signed high school yearbook has a $6,000 estimate

Also up for grabs are Elvis' diamond and gold ram’s head necklace (estimated at up to $150,000) and the Bible Rex Humbard used at Elvis' funeral, featuring the evangelist's notes. It has a $40,000 valuation.

For those on smaller budgets, a copy of Presley's 1953 Humes High School yearbook, signed by the singer, is expected to make $6,000.
